Two New MMLT Reports Available

MMLT recently published two new reports celebrating our achievements and the impact of our land conservation and stewardship work.

Our 2023 Annual Report details our work and events last year, and over our first 20 years! For the first time we were able to purchase a property – Blue Heron Wetland, and we thank Kay Cartwright for her very generous donation of Marl Lake Nature Reserve. We welcomed two new staff members, an held a number of successful events to engage with visitors to our properties. The Report also acknowledges the valued support of our board of directors, volunteers, donors, members, and funders, and it includes our financial statements.

Our Impact Report provides a deeper look at our work, and the impact we have on the land, on wildlife, and on people. With 12 properties – more than 3,300 acres of forests, wetlands, and grasslands – in our care, we wanted to provide existing and potential supporters with a sense of the true value of our work. The Report details our conservation philosophy, our strategic plan, and our approach to land acquisition. It presents the benefits of land conservation for species-at-risk, for human health, and for researchers. We also put an economic value on the ecosystem services performed by our land – over $22 million! Finally it includes portraits of some of our valued supporters, and the various options for supporting our work.

We encourage you to spend time with these reports, and if you have feedback we would love to hear from you by email at [email protected].
