Underwater explorer Jill Heinerth has dived into the watery depths in every province and territory of Canada, exploring underwater caves, mines, shipwrecks, and stunning natural phenomena. She will guide the audience on a remarkable journey through the abundant water resources of our nation while telling stories of swimming with polar bears, WWII shipwrecks, the recent discovery of Shackleton’s ship Quest, and tiny cave dwellers that filter our local watershed.
Through her extensive body of work across books, television, and documentaries, Jill has inspired millions. She has produced captivating TV series for the BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and PBS, and collaborated with visionary directors like James Cameron. Her documentaries, including We Are Water and Ben’s Vortex, have explored some of Earth’s most remote corners.
She is the inaugural recipient of the Sir Christopher Ondaatje Medal for Exploration and was awarded Fellowships from the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame, Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences, Women Diver’s Hall of Fame, National Speleological Society, WINGS WorldQuest, and the Explorers Club, which further honored her with the distinguished William Beebe Award for ocean exploration.
With over 30 years of experience, Jill’s daring explorations and unparalleled knowledge have earned her recognition as a leading voice in the high-stakes world of cave diving.
